GT683 GSM terminal

The Telit GT863-PY terminal is a complete encased modem solution for wireless m2m applications.

GT863-PY is the new generation of Telit terminals based on the quad-band and RoHS compliant GE863 core engine incorporating additional and new features.

The GT863-PY featuring the embedded Python™ script interpreter provides the possibility for running customer programs inside the modem, thus making the terminal a complete self-contained application platform for customer solutions. Programmable I/O ports and the ­IIC-Bus can be used for monitoring external signals, connecting sensors, and switching external devices. The GT863-PY is capable of communicating through all traditional data services provided by GSM/GPRS networks. As with all Telit modules, the GT863-PY offers jamming detection functionality allowing the unit to sense attempts to disrupt the GSM communication by interference with the GSM signal.

Directly controlled by a standard serial RS-232 interface and offering a broad supply voltage range (9–24V DC), the GT863-PY is a universal solution for most low-volume m2m and mobile data applications.

All Telit modules, support Over-the-Air firmware update by means Premium FOTA Management. By embedding Red Bend Software’s vRapid Mobile® agent, a proven and battle-tested technology powering hundreds of millions of cellular handsets world-wide Telit is able to update its products by transmitting only a delta file, which represents the difference between one firmware version and another.

As a part of Telit's corporate policy of environmental protection, all products comply to the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive of the European Union (EU Directive 2002/95/EG).

GE910 GPRS Module

The GE910-QUAD is a 2.5G data module designed to be fully compatible with Telit's HSPA and EV-DO products, also member of the compact, and connector-less xE910 unified form factor family.

This allows you to design your application once and take advantage of global coverage by replacing the module with an UMTS, HSPA+, 1xRTT, EV-DO, or LTE alternate for your next market or for higher data rates.

The LGA (Land-Grid Array) package enables an ultra low profile, integrated solution while at the same time providing enhanced mechanical resistance to shock. An on-board ARM11 processor lets you deploy even the most demanding applications with high processing power requirements.

The GE910 is Telit first GSM/GPRS series of cellular modules to provide USB 2.0 Full Speed interface.

Furthermore, the GE910 makes it possible to run the customer's applications inside the module using Python Script Interpreter, thus making it one of the smallest, complete platforms for m2m solutions.

The GE910 supports embedded SIM chip as a mounting option, making it the ideal solution for durable and rugged designs, and reducing BOM cost and size on the customer's application. The m2mAIR SIM chip provides an all-in-one connectivity solution.

GE910 QUAD AUTO GPRS Module

The GE910-QUAD AUTO is the automotive grade member of the GE910 GPRS product series. Developed and manufactured according to ISO TS16949 quality processes, it is targeted at the most demanding automotive applications. 2G member of Telit's xE910 Unified Form Factor Family, it is offered in a 28x28mm LGA packaging engineered for increased robustness. The GE910-QUAD AUTO provides both UART and USB Full Speed communication interfaces.

Powered by an ARM11 core, the GE910-QUAD AUTO features an embedded Python Script Interpreter to run customer's applications inside the module without the need for any external microprocessor.

Telit GE910 QUAD V3 GPRS module

The GE910-QUAD V3 is a quad-band 850/900/1800/1900MHz GSM/GPRS wireless module designed for the global market of applications in 2G technology, delivering GPRS class-10, 3GPP Release 4 compliant data communications capabilities. It is a member of the xE910 family featuring complete pin-to-pin compatibility with companion products in GSM/GPRS, UMTS/HSPA, HSPA+, CDMA 1xRTT, EV-DO and LTE.

The GE910-QUAD V3 adds the Telit xE910 form factor family a cost optimized, long-term available 2G variant enabling integrators and developers to design applications once and take advantage of the global coverage and service flexibility afforded by the broad set of companion products in all prevalent cellular technologies worldwide.

The GE910-QUAD V3 enables reliable, secure, and cost-effective GSM/GPRS cellular connectivity. It is equipped with two ITU-T V.24 UART interfaces and ten 1.8V I/O ports making it an ideal platform for applications on GSM/GPRS networks anywhere, such as telemetry, telematics, automated meter reading, POS terminals, security usage based insurance, m-health, security alarm panels, and other low-speed friendly application areas. Additional features such as integrated Python Script Language interpreter, TCP/IP and UDP/IP stack provide extended functionality, adding value to the customer application with¬out adding cost.

The GE910-QUAD V3 is voice-capable supporting both analog and digital (DVI) interfaces. It is also offered with an optional factory-mounted SIM chip from Telit m2mAIR which provides additional remote diagnostics and control functionalities for the deployed application while eliminating the need for an external SIM card holder, generating additional BOM cost savings.

The UE910 is an HSPA 7.2 Mbps technology member of the xE910 family. The UE910 series includes low-cost, dual-band 3.5G variants offered in the xE910 LGA unified form factor positioned for global applications not requiring global coverage, particularly for those designated fixed-wireless such as utility metering, and home and commercial security; and those with limited on-region mobility such as POS and logistics terminals.

The UE910 offers voice-capable variants featuring both analog and digital audio, as well as data-only models.

It is recommended for mid to high-volume, compact sized applications. m2mLOCATE is a Telit cloud-based service that provides a device's position based on observed cellular Cell-IDs.

Accessing a database of over 40 million cell-IDs globally, m2mLOCATE can provide a position for every use-case including indoors/underground, outdoors, and boundary situations. For devices with GNSS capability and a view of the satellites, m2mLOCATE provides a position while the GNSS makes a more accurate fix. In the event satellites are not visible (e.g. deep indoors or underground), or the device has no GNSS apparatus, then a position is still provided based on observed cellular signals.

With m2mLOCATE, Telit modules are able to retrieve their position using cellular network information and in urban and rural areas, identifying signals to obtain Cell-ID-based positioning under any condition.

Telit's m2mLOCATE is a service developed in partnership with RxNetworks, a leading provider of Location Based Services (LBS) with an extensive resource portfolio which includes Cell-ID and Wi-Fi access point databases; and Ephemeris stream files.

The UE910-EU V2 AUTO is the new ruggedized variant of the UE910-V2 family designed for use in the most demanding of automotive applications and manufactured under ISO TS16949 specification. The UE910 V2 product family is a member of the Telit x910 family. It offers an HSDPA module with dual-band in 2G and 3G, featuring both analog and digital audio and designed on the xE910 LGA unified form factor. The UE910-EU V2 AUTO allows the integration of automotive and other applications requiring assured extended operating temperature range and mechanical ruggedness within the ever-shrinking space inside electronics bays in trucks, automobiles, and other mobile platforms. The UE910-EU V2 AUTO also offers in-band modem capability and is compliant with eCall EU directive. The eCall project is sponsored by the European Commission and it's based on the EU directive E112.

The HE910 is our most compact multi-band HSPA+ LGA module seires, with built-in GPS and GSM/EGPRS fallback at 28x28mm. As a member of the xE910 LGA unified form factor family the HE910 series is pin-to-pin compatible with LTE, HSPA, GSM/GPRS and CDMA/EVDO xE910 family counterparts. Featuring seven-band HSPA+ data rates of up to 21 Mbps (Cat 14) downlink and 5.7 Mbps (Cat 6) uplink, ideal for high performance global roaming.

The HE910-V2 is an HSPA+ multi-band LGA module series. It is fully digital audio capable, and includes both GPS and GLONASS location technologies.

It is a member of the xE910 LGA unified form factor family with pin-to-pin compatibility across its LTE, HSPA, HSPA+, GSM/GPRS and CDMA/EVDO family counterparts.

With data rates of 14.4 Mbps down and 5.76 Mbps up, the HE910-V2 series is particularly well-suited for devices with high throughput requirements such as mobile computing, in-car telematics, PDAs, e-readers, tablet PCs, and consumer electronics in general.

The V2 family is the new generation of Telit modules which offers most of the features of the previous versions plus a GSM/GPRS protocol stack 3GPP Release 4, the Downlink Advance Receiver Performance (DARP) feature for Single Antenna Interference Cancellation (SAIC), the Enhanced Measurement Report, GERAN Feature package 1, which assists in supporting the Extended Uplink TBF and Network Assisted Cell Change (NACC), the control via remote AT Commands and Event Monitor.

The new GE864-QUAD V2 product introduces the smallest GSM/GPRS Ball-Grid-Array (BGA) modules in the market. The low profile and small size of the unique BGA package of the GE864-QUAD V2 enables the design of very compact applications. Since connectors are eliminated, the solution cost is significantly reduced compared to conventional mounting.

With its ultra-compact design and extended temperature range, the Telit GE864 product line is the perfect platform for high-volume m2m applications and mobile data devices. Additional features such as integrated TCP/IP protocol stack and serial multiplexer extend functionality of the application at no additional cost.

The GE864-QUAD Atex is the extra-rugged member of the GE864 product family incorporating quadri-band functionality, RoHS compliance, as well as featuring low power consumption.

The GE864-QUAD Atex module has been designed for critical applications working in explosive environments and, as such, it's architectural and engineering specifications followed the strict requirements of the ATEX directive. This means, for example, that every critical component in the whole production cycle is traceable and features specific ATEX rates.

The highest level of intrinsic safety (ia) for this module makes its use suitable in the most critical environments (Group II, Category 1), and allows its integration into equipment to be used in potentially explosive atmospheres and/or in apparatus electrically connected to others located in such atmospheres.

The Ball-Grid-Array (BGA) package provides for a very low profile in the integrated solution while at the same time enhancing the performance of mechanical resistance to shock and vibration increasing the safety of these applications. Since cost is a key element for all the applications, the elimination of connectors afforded by the BGA concept also brings down the solution cost compared to conventional mounting methods.

With his low profile design, extended temperature range, ESD and EMC compliance, the GE864-QUAD Atex is the ideal and complete hardware platform for all atex m2m markets, both OEM and aftermarket.

Telit GE864 GPS GSM Module

The new GE864-GPS is the smallest GSM/GPRS module in the market integrating full 48-channels A-GPS functionality. It combines the high performance from Telit's proven GSM/GPRS core technology with the latest SiRFstarIV™ high sensitivity single-chip A-GPS receiver. The Ball-Grid-Array (BGA) package allows the end application to have a very low profile and small overall dimensions, making it possible for the design of extremely compact location based services solutions. Since connectors are eliminated, the solution cost is significantly reduced as compared to conventional mounting.

With its ultra low profile design, the Telit GE864-GPS is the ideal platform for mobile size sensitive and high-volume applications in areas such as telematics, fleet management, tracking, security, and vehicle navigation. The new A-GPS receiver features an extremely low power consumption adaptive micropower controller to mantain hot start capability, a position resolution accuracy of less than 2.5m, Satellite Based Augumentation System (WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS and GAGAN) as well as assisted GPS. These features combined with the available Python™ application development environment translate into a very cost effective and feature rich platform quite capable of becoming the total solution for the complete customer application. Additional features including jamming detection, integrated TCP/IP protocol stack, and Easy Scan® offer unmatched benefits to the application developer without adding cost.

GL865-DUAL is a dual band 900/1800 GSM/GPRS device in LCC castellation packaging with extremely low power consumption, extended temperature range and compact profile.

The low profile and small size of SMT package combined with a very low power consumption enables the design of very compact applications with increased autonomy. Since connectors are eliminated, the solution cost is significantly reduced compared to conventional mounting.

The GL865-DUAL modules with LCC castellation package technology are surface mount package devices, which use metalized pads on the sides of the package. This kind of packaging is ideally suited for uncomplicated and low-cost applications based on Four-Layer PCB (printed circuit board). Moreover, with the option for manual soldering and removal, it can also serve niche applications with a low volume production.

Additional features such as integrated TCP/IP protocol stack, serial multiplexer and Remote AT commands extend the functionality of the application at no additional cost.

It is intended to adopt a black box device installed inside vehicles, wirelessly connected to Emergengy Centers. In case of an emergency such as an accident or by user intervention, the black box and its sensors will send information about the event to such centers, with the chance to establish a voice call for safety measures.

All Telit modules, support Over-the-Air firmware update by means Premium FOTA Management. By embedding Red Bend Software's vRapid Mobile® agent, a proven and battle-tested technology powering hundreds of millions of cellular handsets world-wide Telit is able to update its products by transmitting only a delta file, which represents the difference between one firmware version and another.

As a part of Telit's corporate policy of environmental protection, all products comply to the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive of the European Union (EU Directive 2002/95/EG).

LE910 LTE Module Series

The LE910 introduces the next generation of Telit LTE modules. It is essentially two high-speed cellular modules in one. An LTE 3GPP Release 9 module delivering data rates of 100Mbps downlink and 50Mbps uplink and an HSPA+ module delivering up to 42Mbps downlink and 5.76Mbps uplink rates. The LE910 automatically falls back to HSPA+ if it is unable to register onto an LTE network. It also includes Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology, an essential feature to meet demands for data rate and link reliability in modern wireless communication systems including LTE.

The LE910 is a member of Telit's flagship xE910 module family and its first model delivering 4G radio access technology in the 28.2 x 28.2 x 2.2 mm family form factor. The Telit xE910 Unified Form Factor Family is comprised of 2G, 3G, and 4G, 3GPP and 3GPP2 products sharing a common form factor as well as electrical and programing interfaces which allows developers to implement a "design once, use anywhere" strategy.

Two different series of variants are available, one for the North American market and another for the European. Korean Japanese and Australian markets are planned as well. Both include multiband configurations, covering different sets of 4G and 3G bands as well as MNO certifications.

The Telit Evaluation Kit EVK-PRO³ provides a ready, future-proof and flexible environment for a quick and easy development of applications with Telit GE863-PRO³, revolutionary GSM/GPRS engine including ARM9™ processor core, and in this way dramatically reducing time-to-market.

The kit is formed by a motherboard, on top of which an interface (adapter board) with the GE863-PRO³ module is plugged in. This concept allows using a unique motherboard compatible for both GE863-PRO³ with Linux or without OS, and can also be applied for future product variants.

On the motherboard are placed several interfaces, such as 4 x RS232, 2 host USB 2.0 and 1 device USB 2.0, Ethernet, SD/MMC, ISO 7816, as well as Reset and ON keys for both GSM/GPRS and ARM part, which represent a reference design for this peripheral circuitry of the module. The ARM core and the GSM/GPRS engine can establish connection on the adapter board and both sides of the communication can be monitored on the RS232 ports.

Adapter boards convert the connection technology of the module (BGA solder) into a PTH pin connector. The part of the basic interfaces is served by the mother-board, whereas specific interfaces according to the type of the module like antenna, General Purpose I/O (GPIO), SIM connector, ARM JTAG etc. are available on the adapter board to connect to the user’s application, extension boards or other development tools or measurement equipment.

GM862 GPS

The Telit Evaluation Kit (EVK2) provides a robust, future-proof and flexible environment for rapid development of applications for the full range of GSM/GPRS, UMTS/HSDPA and CDMA module families, dramatically reducing time-to-market.

The kit is comprised of a motherboard, and an adapter board in which the relevant module is connected. This concept allows the EVK2 to be used across various form factors and product generations, both present and future.

The motherboard includes the basic interfaces, such as power input, SIM card holder, audio monitor outputs, RS-232, and USB 1.1, as well as a Reset button and power switch. The motherboard represents the recommended reference design for the module's peripheral circuitry. Jumper blocks on the motherboard define the routing of the serial interfaces, audio signals, and power supply. The PC or DTE controlling the module over the AT-command interface can be connected via USB or RS-232.

Adapter boards are available in different models to allow development for the desired module family (board-to-board or BGA solder). The set of basic interfaces found on by the motherboard. The set of interfaces specific to the module (e.g. antenna, general purpose inputs/outputs (GPIO), ADC/DAC, UART etc.) is found on the adapter board for connection to the user’s application, extension boards, or other development tools and measuring equipment.
