Wireless communication is information transferred over a distance without the use of cables/wires. This may be one-way communication systems such as television or radio broadcasting, or two way communication systems such as machine-to-machine (M2M).
A wireless network refers to any type of computer or machine-to-machine (M2M) link communicating without the need of cables/wires.
Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication uses technologies to allow both wireless and wired systems to connect with devices of the same ability.
M2M applications are found within a wide range of industries, these include automatic meter reading (AMR), vending machines, point of sales (POS) terminals, transport and logistics (fleet management), healthcare, security technology and many other applications.
Embedded modules are computer systems designed to perform one or more functions to a complete device such as a modem or a GPS receiver.
